Head of the Environmental Virology and Food Safety lab dedicated to developing PCR methods for precise virus detection and employing NGS in environmental virology as well as evaluating how food processing impact viruses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her team devised a strategy to detect SARS-CoV-2 in sewage, which has gained international recognition. Recently, the team has shifted focus towards detecting antibiotic resistance genes in environmental samples.
